Over the millennia, the Vilani had developed their own distinctive set of Naval traditions. These included a unique designation system for warships. As they came into contact (and conflict) with the Terrans it was only natural that this designation system would be rendered into more familiar terms for the benefit of Terran naval personnel.

• Gamilur: This term was usually translated as 'Attack Cruiser' though the more literal translation is 'Offensive Patrolship'. This ship type was only used in the Kuhuggi province (the province facing the Terrans). The type was developed at the behest of the remarkable

Diikagkarunii (Provincial Governor) Sharik Yangila. These vessels were designed in emulation of Terran capital ships and featured a large spinal particle accelerator as their main armarment.
• Kaiilur: This term was usually translated as 'Light Cruiser' though the more literal translation is 'Small Patrolship'.
• Gadni: This term is translated as 'Escort'. These vessels were intended as general purpose patrol ships along the lines of the Terran sloops.
