Ash Marler was born on the planet Marax, during the reign of Ushugaam I. His parents sent him away to military academy as a young lad. Here he learned how to be an obediant soldier for Ushugaam. The academy determined that he had the reflexes and aptitude to make a fine pilot and he was sent to Flight Academy. Over the last few years, he served with distinction especially against a rebellion in the Pontaine Acchipelago. After Ushugaam II captured the DLS Helios, Marler was assigned to its crew. Ushugaam II the doesn't really trust his officers, so he as extra officers assigned to the crew to watch the other officers. Marler was made the Second Flight Officer, this is mainly a back up pilot and watchdog position. Marler did well in this assignment, he did quite well here. He was given a Silver Suncrest with Dual Rays for his actions on Tinyid.
When the crew of the ANV Argo came to Marax and agreed to train an astrogator in making jump 3 manuvers, Marler was choosen for this choice assignment. He was given orders to learn as much as possible about the RC, and its intentions and how it would react to Marax. He was also given a small fortune in gems to purchase weapons and technology to build up Marax's strength.

Ash is a fairly average man. He stands 5' 8", weighs 140 lbs. He has shortly cropped brown hair, with no facial hair. He is very fit, and when on planet, goes for long runs at dawn.
Club King: Ash Marler is everything a TED could want in an officer. He is ruthless and willing to use extreme violence to accomplish his goals. He is a big fan of the razorfang fights, which are held in the capital. These are a vicious bloodsport between trained animals.
Diamond 4: Ash is very loyal to Ushugaam II, but he if comes across a way to make some money that doesn't hurt Ushugaam or Marax, Ash will take it. This includes bribes, but also carrying on a little smuggling. For instance, during his time aboard the Argo, Ash will buy smal items, which he can resell back home.
3kg of Gems worth about 30,000cr. These are the property of Ushugaam II and are to be used to buy high goods which can be used to increase Ushugaam's power. Ash also has about 4500 Cr of gems to buy luxury goods which he can sell back home for three to four times the purchase price. He has several changes of clothes, a automatic pistol with several spare magazines.
