Khishan Subsector: The Khishan Subsector has an estimated population in 1202 of approximately 70.283 billion, a decline of 66 percent from its Pre-Collapse population. Its highest population is 29.05 billion at Murcia, and its highest tech level is 8 at Wikk and Inarim.

The Khishan Subsector had an estimated population in 1117 of approximately 208.43 billion. Its highest population was 98.6 billion at Wynd, and its highest tech level was 16 at Khishan, Dumeras and Wynd.

Subsector Notes

Khishan subsector was one of the most populous in the Imperium, with 1.8 percent of its total population. In addition, the presence of three TL 16 (two of which were industrial) and five TL 15 worlds made this subsector one of the most economically powerful subsectors in the Imperium.

Ektorr (1509)

The survivors on Ketola (1807) are the descendents of the two corporations that once governed the planet, Theedin Research and Tenia Incorporated. While these two companies were at one time quite antagonistic toward one another, in the New Era, the two clannish groups have found they must cooperate to survive the icy environment of their native planet.

When the Collapse hit, Iggarir (2007) had already endured its share of hardship. During the Civil War, the system was the site of several major battles, many of which brought some of the world's gravitic cities crashing down from the sky. Iggarir, while possessing of a breathable atmosphere and ample hydrosphere, sits perched on an axial tilt of over 51 degrees, making annual climatic changes quite severe. As a result, Iggariri generally lived in mobile floating arcologies before the Collapse, with the surface of the world reserved for agriculture and mining. As the effects of Virus emanated from Core like a raging tsunami, Iggarir was hit hard. Vampire attacks brought most of the cities crashing down, killing all of their inhabitants. Only the 32 arcologies that had already grounded themselves in the planet's equatorial region survived. The overlord of Iggarir was not one of the lucky people to have survived. With their government decapitated, the Iggariri split up into rival factions based at the grounded arcologies. Where two to four of the arcologies were grounded in the same locality, arcology unions formed. All in all, thirteen separate states now exist in Iggarir, most of which are governed by a technologically elevated dictator. The rival states wage war with one another frequently, fighting over the world's scarce resources and the artifacts in its ruins. Because of the extremes to which the high population of Iggarir must go in order to survive, the law level of most states is extremely high.

Wikk (2010) is governed by a druidic cult who control the planet's unique animated plantlife supply. Wikk's flora contains muscle tissue, enabling it to mindlessly walk and extend stalks for pollination purposes. The temples of the cult are actually wood constructions built upon foundations of "walking" trees that take the druidic priests around the countryside to preach the gospel. The Wikkie plantlife was a novelty in the pre-Collapse era, but in the New Era it is a primary building and manufacturing material. While the druidic government of Wikk are not very progressive, the planet harbors a rather active scientific community who manage to thrive mostly due to indifference on the part of the druids. The Wikkies mounted a brief interstellar travel mission (justifying it to their druidic masters as a chance to spread the faith) in 1172. The three salvaged ships were sent in the general direction of Core sector and were never again heard from. The Wikkies have abandoned further attempts at regaining the stars.

Murcia (2109) was never much of a factor in interstellar politics despite its high population and status as largest exporter of agroproducts in the Khishan cluster. After the general Collapse of the Imperium, the Murcian government soon followed suit. Political power was seized by the Vilani-style Murcian agricultural bureaux. A supreme council of nine magistrates now rules Murcia with an iron fist. Not possessing of much in the way of high technology, Murcia has been little affected by Virus other than the occasional gratuitous orbital bombardment by Vampire fleets. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that Murcia meets its agricultural quotas to ensure the continued survival of its citizens. Ironically, the oppressive measures taken by the magistrates have had a deleterious effect on the planet's agricultural output.

Elan (2302) Mina (2401) and Solarda (2403) are Virus-controlled states and satellites of the Black Curtain. Elan and Solarda, in addition to salvage sites for Vampire ships in service to the fleets of the Curtain, are also exporters of shipbound human slaves. The inhabitants of Mina have successfully fled into the underground and have, to date, avoided such terrible fates.
