Peregrine Fighter

The Peregrine fighter is the companion piece to the Hawker class patrol frigate. Fast, long-legged and reasonably armed, its intended roles are force recon, fleet screening and delaying actions. The vessel is well armed enough to take on most civilian craft, and it is deployed in a large enough number to take out most pirate and privateer vessels.

The vessels distinctive disc shape was chosen to permit as little surface area as possible to be consumed when grappled to its mother. The fighter is unique in carrying a stateroom for its crew, though this is usually taken up with additional fuel or armament on many versions. The Peregrine is an IDP design, but was most commonly encountered in service with world and colonial navies.
