Fearless-Class Vampire Hunter

Starn System Federated Shipyards has once again produced an innovative, dependable ship to meet the Regency's needs. Produced in response to the RQS request for shipping of up to 100KTons to deal with the Vampire menace to our pioneering citizens in the wilds.

The design is 5000 displacement tons overall, capable of Jump 4 and can manouvre at 6Gs. A slender killer, it mixes the best of TL-16 gear with the most reliable TL-15 equipment.

It's main armament is the Starn Defence Industries "Wildfire" Spinal Mount Particle Accelerator, capable of giving ships of up to Cruiser size pause for thought. At long range this is complimented by 10 207Mj Instellarms Remote Tunable Laser Turrets. For close range teeth these are reinforced by Sika'imin "Seer" 729Mj X-ray Laser Turrets, once again unmanned.

Missiles are, of course, a part of the design - but they have a little extra help. Ten 1200tonne TL-16 Manipulators are installed onboard. Capable of accelerating a standard missile at an initial 8G's it provides extra endurance for missiles - endurance no Vampire will expect, and terminal heartburn too!

As befits a ship with a plethora of remote turrets there are 18 MFD's half capable of controling missiles and repulsors.

Defence is catered for by a thickly armoured hull, 8 TL-16 sandcasters, and a high rating Meson Screen. 20 decoy dispensers carry 2000 TL-16 decoys, 800 Passive, 800 Active and 400 Laser types.

Most crew must double up, but that's the price to pay for a ship that'll survive in the wilds.

Maintance of the ship is aided by two Electronics Shops and a Machine Shop. A Sickbay caters for the crew.

Onboard craft consist of two armed gigs, which in addition to providing crew transport allows the 16 Marines carried to perform boarding actions.

In order to provide scouting information for the rest of the fleet, the Fearless also carries two "Rankine" class fast couriers. Capable of Jump 6 and 6G manouvre, these agile little ships can scout ahead of the ship, call for reinforcements, and, most importantly warn nearby settled systems of nearby Vampire threats.

Only the best will defeat the Vampire hordes - we belive that the Fearless is the best answer to the devastators of Seplus, and given our location near the border, the ships will be hitting the Vampires all the sooner.

Estimated procurement costs of 20 Fearless Vampire Hunters and their carried craft is 57550 MCr, a small price to pay for securing the frontier.
