Shivva Patrol Frigate
design by Pete Gray
The Shivva is a venerable design, almost
three hundred years old. First constructed at
Shivva/Shivva (Foreven 0403) in the 920s. Dozens of
different versions exist or have existed during its
long history, as the Zhodani merely recycled the basic
hull form through many different evolutions, mostly of
TL 13 and 14 construction. The version below is the
current Post-Collapse variant (otherwise known as the
Shivva Mk 27) and is used by the Zhodani Navy and its
allies for border and quarantine patrol. This
particular model also exists in considerable numbers
with quarantine forces in the Avalar Consulate and the
Thirz Empire.
The Shivva has seen service in the last three Frontier
Wars, primarily in screening light attack squadrons.
The ship is neither very robust or fast or long
legged, but it is without peer as a small carrier and
picket ship.
Designer Notes: Considerable variance exists between
this design and the design listed in various CT and GT
technical manuals. I have no apologies for this. The
original Shivva had a shuttle, and two more 8 or 10
ton fighters. Alas, space limitations required that I
delete them, and beef up the design with streamlining
and 3-G. All in all, the designs capabilities are not
dramatically different from the published Shivva.
