Horrible-Skittery-Spider-Thing

design by Nick Bradbeer

These things will be employed as scavengers/scouts by a robot factory. Their small size limits their range, as they carry only a day's fuel, and they can't carry more than about 50kg of scavenged stuff, but if they find a useful hoard they can remember the place and the factory can send something bigger. Their TL-11 brains make them fairly stupid, although they have enough intelligence to locate useful materials and attack anything moving. If encountered, they only move at jogging pace but won't need to rest, so they're one of those horrible enemies that Just Won't Quit(TM). They fight with laser cutter 'mandibles'; not much of a threat individually, but in large numbers....

And the other cool thing would be an instinctive 'need to feed' on any HGHCD's they find lying around the place - 'drinking' to refuel. This might be a weakness PCs could use to buy a few vital moments.
